ORGANISATIONAL WELL BEING PROGRAMMES
“Our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world… as in being able to remake ourselves” Gandhi.
THE CONTEXT
We know that the last two years has fractured our sense of security and beliefs in ways we didn’t know were possible. Senior Leadership are under more pressure than ever to facilitate staff transitions, professional development and support staff wellness while staying aligned with their organisation’s strategic objectives. For staff members, realistically nobody wants to sacrifice their precious work hours to attend another training workshop.
Yet your heart is in the right place and you know people need support.
You want your staff to bring the fullness of their humanity to work everyday. You want to encourage and empower your people to live well and to mind themselves. And you’re also aware that there can sometimes appear to be a corporate cultural dissonance between high performance and self care.
I get it. I understand the challenges of the workplace and remote working and I’m also here to tell you that there is no silver bullet. There is no one-stop-shop for corporate wellness, for a high performing culture that is healthy and for pleasing everyone because the system is complex and multi-dimensional. These challenges that you’re facing are cultural, societal, relational and are unique to this increasingly complex time in history.
However, there are practical paths that you can lay down so that those days where things pile up and the cascade of stress seems inevitable, gradually become less and less for your staff. That they feel equipped to deal with the challenges of modern corporate life and our fractured trust in reality and where personal care becomes everyone’s first priority. This is where I come in.

The Power of Awareness and Emotional Intelligence
Mindfulness seems to be everywhere at the moment, doesn’t it? However just because people are talking about it doesn’t mean that they are actually practicing it. And that is key.
Mindfulness is both a tool and a way of being that helps us notice more of what is going on, inside ourselves and around us. By having a more accurate read on situations we make better decisions, respond more skilfully and build better relationships.
Don’t worry, it is not about peacefulness and it is not about making your mind calm (which is basically impossible). Mindfulness is simply a great asset that has blended ancient eastern philosophy with western psychology to give us more resources to deal with the challenges of life.
Becoming more mindful can build resilience against stress, expand perspective and help combat the challenges of today’s busy, digitally loaded, always-on lifestyle. Becoming more mindful, while not solving all your problems, can help us you more at ease with the problems that you do have to face.
For now though, I say “Let’s start with becoming a little less mindless and take it from there!”
